Honest Talk with Jack

A Safe Space for Real Talk

Welcome to Honest Talk with me, Jack Ingram. If you are on this page, you have probably found yourself contemplating how to live a healthier more joyful life, wondering if someone somewhere could actually help. It could be you've exhausted your efforts with doctors and therapists, and need a real person, that has made real mistakes, that can really understand (without judgement) the difficulties we all face in everyday life. Or, you might be an ex-girlfriend trying to figure out where my car is parked on a daily basis. (You know who you are). If you have met me, or if a friend/loved one has shared this site with you, I encourage you to reach out to see if this is something that can benefit you. Don’t worry, I won’t make you put on a gown, I have no use for latex gloves in my practice, and I definitely won’t waste an hour of your time having you fill out countless forms that I’ll never read.

ABOUT JACK

Do as I say, not as I do.

As a young medical doctor, I lived by that notion. At 18 years old I was accepted into medical school and truly believed that nothing could take me down. I breezed through the rigors of the most difficult education one can pursue, and passed every board exam with ease, many times still feeling the effects from the party the night before. I was functioning, successfully, and was doing what I loved most, helping others. As a physician and psychiatrist at one of the busiest hospitals in the state, I was doing for others what I couldn’t do for myself. This could only last so long, and eventually I ran into a mile high wall I could not climb. I left medicine in pursuit of long term recovery and came to realize the most important factor in getting back on my feet was support. If you find yourself reading this, struggling with your own trials, support is here. Empathetic support that can’t be taught in a classroom or learned from a textbook, with all of the knowledge of evidence based practices.
